More like a roadblock!

Made a momentous decision this morning (after talking about it for long enough) to try writing a blog. Inspired by my niece Melanie who writes hers as if she just won “author of the year”… she’s witty, eloquent, poignant and informative… quite sickening really considering she’s only been at it (blogging that is) for a couple of months!

Anyway I finally took the plunge! I got my title easily… life has thrown many crossroads in my direction especially from my late twenties onwards. Once I decided to start, I was already in the romantic, nostalgic, picturesque worlds of New Zealand, Scotland, the Lake District, Paris, the Eastern seaboard of America, Wigan… Wigan!?!? Well I guess one could not describe Wigan in quite such superlatives but it is where I encountered my first real crossroad and for that I shall always be grateful. The events of Wigan and actually, one would have to admit a one way street right out of there, will be the subject of my first real blog. Bet your anticipation is already at an unparralled high! But first I need to talk about the road block I encountered whilst trying to load up the car and get on the blogger road so to speak!

Sometime in the past two or three weeks I must have decided to create a blog complete with passwords and user names and probably inspired and fortified by a couple of very large glasses of Sauvignon Blanc- I guess I was already “Googled”! Consequently today, being merely bored and with too much time on my hands, when I tried to create a new blog I was already created! Compound this problem with the fact that my lovely daughter Lauren also has a blog and you can picture the situation. Instead of all those lovely creative juices flowing I became a woman of manic proportions resorting to yelling at the screen, “But I’ve already bloody done that!,” taking deep breaths to avoid hyperventilating and even more pissed off because I couldn’t relax this volatile situation with a calming glass of wine as I have to drive later… for those of you doing a "dead ant" right now, I know it’s hard to believe but I can be sensible if I have to be! How did I resolve this you ask? Well I’m not exactly sure what I did but finally there I was with a big Blog Spot just waiting to be filled!

Okay, here goes… memory mode in full force… only to be interrupted by a Google “You need to sign in again” kind of message that once again incites loud expletives which serve no useful purpose other than to make my dog bark! I am very proud to announce that I finally got it all going after receiving a code from Google by text- now that in itself is an achievement of which I am really proud.Ya boo sucks to my textless friends who at this point would have been threatening to twist some ones Googles very tightly!

So there you have it, I am ready to be a blogger… sadly for you, the delights of the Wigan crossroads will have to wait a big longer!
